Zen Bowl by Jeanette Amlie
"I awoke this bright summer morning feeling that if this is what life has to offer than I have no desire to be here. But instead of sinking into it, I got out my journal and started painting. Just move paint around Jeanette! That’s all you have to do. No ideas. No inspiration…just paint and experiment!
Who woulda thunk that this would come out of it. I realize how much I miss the simplicity of sitting in sacred silence with other people as I did in my Zen days. Only I don't miss the masculine zen part. To have a small Creative Awakening studio where we can explore the quiet inward and the expressive outward together. What more is needed? People are needed, people who are ready to see through their own bullshit (including me). We have to help each other do it if we are to realize that we are not alone and separate individuals. We have to help each other to find out we are whole. But now I'm tired of all of the words and concepts and ideas and analysis. I want stories and rich images and songs and silence...." |
